Join us for Purim at Sinai!

5:00 PM Purim Carnival
6:30 PM Megillah & Purim Spiel

Come in costume as any character from the Purim story or in our David Bowie theme and win valuable prize tickets!

We thought they were Golden Years, but is there Life in Shushan? Vashti says no to Let's Dance and the King has found Modern Love with a girl named Esther.

Is Haman the King's Starman? Is it Fame he wants or is he a Rebel, Rebel, plotting to become the Man Who Sold the World?

Mordecai is Under Pressure. Will he succeed in leading the necessary Ch'Ch'Ch'Ch' Changes or end up Ashes to Ashes?

Shushan may not yet be Sufragette City; even so, can Esther be our Lady Stardust in a land in dire need of Heroes... or will she succumb to Scary Monsters, Super Creeps, and All the Young Dudes?

Purim – Sinai Style
The story of Purim, from the Book of Esther, tells about how Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai save the Jews of Persia from Haman, the king’s evil prime minister. Sinai celebrates this holiday in a multitude of ways…..
• We retell the story of Purim through a spiel and by chant-ing directly from the Scroll of Esther.
• We dress in costume (to hide our identity as Esther did in the story).
• We have a Purim Carnival
• We eat Hamentaschen (the traditional three-sided pastery which represents Haman’s hat).
• We give Mishloach Manot….or “giving gifts”. Click here for more info on our school's Mishloach Manot fundraiser.
• Sinai welcomes members of the JCC Chaverim Adult Special Needs group to our Purim celebration.
