Alan Mendeloff
Alan Mendeloff comes from a long line of synagogue presidents. A native of Charleston, WV, Alan grew up in the one hundred- and fifty-year-old reform congregation of Temple Israel where his grandfather, father and mother all served as congregation president. One might say it’s a family tradition.
Having moved to Milwaukee from St. Paul in the mid-nineties, Alan attended a Sinai summer outdoor service and, as he put it, “realized I felt at home.”
You may recognize Alan from his role as a front door High Holy Day usher over the past fifteen years. Alan is an occasional Harley rider and one of the select few who know how Sinai’s Sukkah is assembled. When not at Sinai, Alan works in health care administration. Alan is father to adult daughter Lola and spouse of Susan Lederman.
In his address at his first annual meeting, he concluded with these words: “A wise person said “pray as though all is up to God. Work as though all is up to us”. The road is long and the tasks are many but the obligations are ours to address and fulfill. Let’s get to work.”
