Prayer Book Repair
Volunteers will repair Sinai prayer books with book binding materials.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services and POHSEY (Proactive Outreach for the Health of Sexually Exploited Youth)
Volunteers will be assembling backpacks for teen victims of sex trafficking which will be distributed by POHSEY to victim advocates who will give them directly to youth. A list of needed items will be provided.

Empty Bowls
We will be painting ceramic bowls to donate to Empty Bowls for their 2018 fundraiser. The bowls we paint will be donated to raise funds to feed those in need in the Milwaukee metro area. We also will be making holiday cards and wrapping holiday gifts for youth in Milwaukee.

Pathfinders
Every month Congregation Sinai prepares and serves a meal at Pathfinders. Volunteers will be preparing December’s meal. Pathfinders serves homeless youth and youth in crisis in Milwaukee.
Date and time: December 16, 10:00am to 12:00pm meal preparation.
Meal serving on Wednesday, December 19, 4:30-6:15 pm.

Project #5 - Alternate Location
Community Advocates Milwaukee Women’s Center
Volunteers will be creating a variety of craft projects with the residents (women and children of all ages) of Community Advocates Milwaukee Women’s Center.

# of volunteers: 6 families or 6-8 adults

Interviewing Seniors at Sarah Chudnow
Sinai volunteers will be going to the Sarah Chudnow Campus to be paired up with a senior to interview each other (suggested questions will be provided). Make a connection between generations.

Jewish Community Food Pantry
The Jewish Community Food Pantry provides emergency food to individuals and families in need throughout the greater Milwaukee community. Help sort and pack food for clients

Blanket Making
Volunteers will be tying fleece blankets which will be given to Community Advocates Milwaukee Women’s Center.

Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families while their children are receiving medical treatment at Children’s Hospital. Volunteers will prepare bag lunches for families to eat during the following week. Contact Julie (414) 899-5128 if you are interested in planning the lunches or shopping for ingredients prior to volunteer date.

Plan a Walk/Run to Support Immigrant Families
Temple Emanuel in McAllen, Texas has been collecting monetary donations to assist immigrant families and asylum seekers. 4,700 children have yet to be united with their parents. Join this committee to start planning for a late spring charity walk./run. All funds will go to Temple Emanuel’s efforts.
