As my first year of becoming president again comes to a close, I have been reflecting on the past year. It has been a year that I had the privilege of working with a great group of officers and trustees.

Our meetings were actually enjoyable and meaningful doing the work of the congregation. Some of the highlights of the year included the L’Dor Va Dor Honoring Event, reaching our Legacy goal, the successful Brick Campaign and new meditation space outside, our festive holiday celebrations and the development of the Kol Simcha youth band. Thanks to the lay and professional staff for
everyone’s contribution.

Please join us on May 22nd for the Annual Meeting. I will be giving my insights on where we have been the last year and where we are headed. This is a great opportunity to hear from your lay leadership and for us to hear from you. As you will see in the rest of this Sinai News there are a lot of exciting events coming. On June 17th we will be saying good-bye to Cantor Lauren Phillips at a Rockin’ Shabbat and Champagne Oneg. How could there be a more appropriate venue to wish her well? Our summer services start on June 24th. This is a great time to be with your friends in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Congregation Sinai has been my Jewish home for my entire life. I grew up under the watchful eye of my rabbi and friend Jay Brickman. Jay married Kate and I right in Sinai’s back yard. Now almost six decades after I was enrolled in Sinai’s K4 class, I again have this wonderful relationship with my rabbi. Rabbi Cohen is my rabbi, confidant and friend. I feel so privileged to have these rabbis in my life. It is what makes Sinai special for me. I hope you will find what is special for you.
