Jen Friedman is the Director of Engagement at Congregation Sinai in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She joined the staff in 2009 and facilitates and plans all lifecycle, holiday/spiritual, educational and social programs. Jen welcomes new members to our Sinai family and engages all congregants in a variety of interest-based groups within the Sinai community. Jen is also responsible for the marketing and communications for Congregation Sinai and year-round development.
Jen is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degrees in Broadcast, Mass Communication and Marketing. A native of Lexington, Massachusetts, she grew up in synagogue life as a daughter of Reform Rabbi, Cary Yales. Upon moving to Milwaukee, she saw a void in Jewish programming for young adults and helped found Young Jewish Professionals of Milwaukee – where she met her husband! Creating Jewish community and experiences led her to a career in Jewish communal service.
Jen spent over 10 years leading Wisconsin Region B’nei B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO), ending her tenure there in 2007 as Executive Director. She continued working for BBYO International as a Mentor Consultant and as the Development Event Planner for Mequon Jewish Preschool. An engaged member of our community, Jen has served on the boards of Milwaukee Jewish Federation, BBYO FAN Commission, Maple Dale-Indian Hill Educational Foundation, Nicolet High School Performing Arts Committee and is a past president of the Milwaukee Section of National Council of Jewish Women.
Jen lives in Bayside with her husband Ari and their three children Ilana, Seth and Bennett. The Friedman Family are proud to be engaged members of Congregation Sinai and cherish this beautiful community!
