It’s Great to be Back Together!
The Safer at Sinai Task Force is pleased to announce its new “masks optional” policy for Shabbat services and other activities at Sinai, effective immediately. We are aligned with the practices of other organizations, peer synagogues, public and private schools, many other Milwaukee cultural and business groups, and the guidance of local and national health experts.
Here are some details that you need to know:
- Well-fitted masks are now optional if you are fully vaccinated. (We continue to recommend the booster shot, including the newly approved second booster for those over 50.)
- By all means, you should continue to wear a mask at Sinai if you are more comfortable keeping it on, or have medical reasons to do so.
- If you are an unvaccinated adult, you are still required to wear a mask.
- Religious School students are also allowed to be “masks optional” if they are fully vaccinated.
- Congregation Sinai will no longer require a sign-in for the purposes of contact tracing before services and other gatherings.
The Safer at Sinai Task Force continues to see sharp declines in cases and hospitalizations — both locally and nationally — but we are also watchful for any surges caused by new variants. Should any of these guidelines change, members will be notified through the Enews and the website will be updated.
For the wellness of our community, please stay home if you are not feeling well, have been a close contact to an individual with COVID, or are awaiting test results for COVID. Keeping the health and safety of our members, clergy and staff in mind, we are looking forward to seeing your smiling faces at Sinai soon!
