Each year, Congregation Sinai creates a Yizkor Book which is used during the 4 festival holiday services - Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Pesach and Shavuot.  The book also includes the Mourner’s Kaddish and a list of the names engraved on our permanent memorial sculpture which hangs in Sinai’s foyer.

Yizkor means “we remember” and its primary purpose is to honor loved ones we have lost over the years.  There is a Jewish tradition of giving charity in memory of a loved one, based on the theory that the good deeds of the survivors elevate the souls of the departed.  In this spirit, we hope you will continue to remember your loved ones in our 5784 Yizkor Book.  We ask for an $18 donation per name you list in the Yizkor Book which helps to defray the cost of printing.

Make your online donation no later than August 14, 2023 and please consider increasing your donation by 2.5% to cover the credit card transaction fees.

If you have any questions or are interested in honoring your loved ones by adding their name to our permanent memorial sculpture, please call the Sinai office at (414) 352-2970 or email Karen Berk (kberk@congregationsinai.org).
